Where to buy AMD 7000 series CPUs? AMD Zen 4 is hitting the market soon and we wanted to facilitate a where-to-buy and pre-order page, where we consolidate all of AMD’s latest generation of CPUs into one page.

AMD Zen 4, codenamed “Raphael”, is the newest generation of CPU from AMD, which promises to blow everything we currently know bout AMD CPUs out of the water. Reports are coming in suggesting that Zen 4 will feature SKUs boasting massive improvements over Zen 3

With IPC (instructions per clock) improvements of up to 18%, peak frequency increases of up to 5.5GHz, and all-core frequency increases of up to 12%. Which is a huge improvement over the already well-designed and incredibly efficient Zen 3 CPU generation.

You’re gonna need an AM5 motherboard to pair with a Zen 4 CPU, check out our AM5 page now.

Zen 4 CPU release date

Dr. Lisa Su, the CEO of AMD, has announced that the release date for both Zen 4 CPUs and AM5 motherboards will be scheduled for Fall 2022, meaning we could see Ryzen 7000 CPUs hit the shelves as early as September 2022.

AMD Zen 4 predicted SKUs

Not much information is available on Zen 4 SKUs and nothing has been announced by AMD just yet. But we can predict what SKUs will be available at launch by looking at historical data.

We believe the Zen 4 SKUs to launch in September will be.

  • Ryzen 5 7600X
  • Ryzen 7 7800X
  • Ryzen 9 7900X
  • Ryzen 9 7950X

So, just like the 5000 series, we expect the 7700X to release shortly after the launch of the initial wave of 7000 series CPUs. This is unfortunate as the x700X CPU usually offers better value for money than the other CPUs.

zen 4 specs

Zen 4 is the next advancement in CPU architecture from AMD and this is going to require an upgrade in hardware to support it, such as the AM5 socket motherboard, DDR5, and new technology to support DDR5 known as EXPO (extended profiles for overclocking).

You can read more about all these technologies in our ‘Everything we know about AM5’ article.

Zen 4 is presumably bringing the same family of CPUs we’re used to, and that would be the following.

  • Ryzen 9
  • Ryzen 7
  • Ryzen 5
  • Ryzen 3

Along with the smaller nm process adding more power, there’s an interesting leak from Twitter user Bits and Chips, stating that the new architecture will also bring more cores to the CPUs.
