Weekly poll: Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G, Redmi Note 11S 5G and Redmi 10 5G vie for your attention

Xiaomi launched three new phones earlier this week. Well, it was more of a re-launch, really, since all three already existed in Xiaomi’s line-up in some form. Still, expanding availability means they are new to a lot of people. But are those people interested? Let’s find out.

The Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G is the same phone that launched in China and that sells under the name 11i HyperCharge 5G in India. As you can tell from the name, it supports fast charging (120W, 100% in 15 minutes for its 4,500mAh battery). It also has a 6.67” 120Hz AMOLED display, a Dimensity 920 chipset and a 108MP main camera (+ 8 MP ultra wide).

This package will cost you $370 for a base 6/128 GB model, with 8/128GB ($400) and 8/256 GB ($450) options available. The Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G will be available from AliExpress starting on Wednesday and will come with some early bird discounts ($20, $30 and $40, respectively).

Let’s browse through a few alternatives. The global pricing of the Realme GT Neo3 is yet to be revealed, but if it’s close, it will tempt you with a more powerful Dimensity 8100 chipset, plus the choice between a 5,000 mAh battery with 80W charging or 4,500 mAh with 150W charging. The GT Neo2 is €450, however, so this one might be too pricey.

The Realme 9 Pro+ is €380 and offers a smaller 6.4” 90Hz AMOLED display, along with the same Dimensity 920 chipset. The main camera has a similarly-sized 50MP sensor with OIS, the 4,500mAh battery is noticeably slower to charge at 60W (100% in 44 minutes).

The Redmi Note 11S 5G we have already seen as the Poco M4 Pro 5G. Unlike the Note 11S 4G, this model has a larger 6.6” IPS LCD (vs. 6.43” AMOLED, both 90Hz), a Dimensity 810 (vs. Helio G96) and a 50MP main camera (vs. 108MP) and an 8MP ultrawide camera. Both phones have 5,000mAh batteries with 33W fast charging (100% in just under 1 hour).

The Redmi Note 11S 5G starts at $250 for a 4/64GB unit and also comes in 4/128GB ($280) and 6/128GB ($300) versions. What else can you get for that kind of cash? Depending on where you live, options may be scarce.

The Samsung Galaxy F23 should cost around the same in India or even a bit less. It is similar with a 6.6” 120Hz IPS LCD, Snapdragon 750G chipset, 50MP main camera and 5,000 mAh battery with 25W charging. The F-series is not widely available, however. The Galaxy A33 5G looks interesting, but Samsung hasn’t announced the pricing yet.

Two Snapdragon 695 powered options are the Honor X9 5G (which should be a bit pricier than the 11S) with a larger 6.81” 120Hz IPS LCD, 4,800mAh battery with faster 66W charging (81% in 30 minutes) and a less impressive camera setup (48MP main, no ultrawide). The iQOO Z6 might not be available globally, but it offers a 6.58” 120Hz IPS LCD, a 50MP main camera (no ultrawide) and a 5,000mAh battery (18W charging).

The third and final model is the Redmi 10 5G, aka Redmi Note 11E. The spec sheet is short and sweet – 6.58” 90Hz IPS LCD, Dimensity 700, 50MP camera, 5,000 mAh battery (18W charging). This is the only one of the three models not to have a microSD slot, however, all three have 3.5 mm headphone jacks (we know how important those features are to some).

The Redmi 10 5G starts at $200 for the 4/64 GB model and goes up to $230 for the 4/128 GB one.

The Galaxy A22 5G also runs on a Dimensity 700, it has a similar display and battery setup, in even includes a basic 5MP ultrawide camera. This is a model from last year, but with a promise of three OS updates it should reach Android 14 and should have a year of security patches after that.

The Realme 9 SE might be out of reach in terms of price, but the regular Realme 9 5G will go head to head with the Redmi. This one does have a microSD slot and a better selfie camera (16 MP vs. the rather low 5 MP on the Redmi 10 5G).
