Sea of Thieves Introduces Adventures That Will Permanently Change The Game

Last Updated:

Sea of Thieves is introducing a brand new adventure that will continue the story of the aftermath of the Veil of the Ancients. The Golden Sands outpost may be lost forever and it is up to the pirates of the seven seas to protect it. Players will be able to take part in the rebuilding efforts of the Golden Sands as part of the new update.

Players Can Now Participate in the Lost Sands Adventure

Merrick has returned to Golden Sands to lead the rebuilding effort, recruiting its former inhabitants along with any other pirates willing to help. Meanwhile, sinister figures have been spotted lurking in the shadows of the Outpost’s surrounding islands.

Players can speak to Larinna to begin this Adventure and join in the global community effort, as the fate of Golden Sands Outpost is left in players’ hands. Players can choose to follow the Hunters or the Servants as part of the new content update.

Soulflame Rowboats Added to the Game

During the new adventure, pirates can discover Soulflame Rowboats emergently across the seas, crafted by The Reaper’s Bones for the purposes of creating a ruckus in the seven seas. All Soulflame Rowboats come with a reinforced explosive keg strapped to the rear, allowing pirates to light the fuse before reaching their target and detonating. The keg is resistant to small arms fire, but repeated attacks will eventually cause it to explode.

Server Performance Issues in the New Update

Players may experience scenarios where they encounter ping spikes at random while playing, resulting in rubberbanding or client stutters. While improvements have been released in update 2.5.2.1, the dev team is aware of the issue and will continue to work on further improvements for future updates. A patch will be released to resolve the issue in a future update in the coming weeks.

The new update has also improved the rotation of world events as part of the new update and you will encounter them more frequently. The update has also improved interactions with the Ritual Skull and Flames of Fate when launching the Fort of the Damned activity.
