As it is April Fools there is some tomfoolery expected from companies and possibly even our prolific leakers. So with that in mind, we do look over the news of the RTX 40 series and RX 7950 XT specifications. Both of which are supposedly landing in the second half of the year.
Both greymon55 and kopite7kimi on Twitter gave out some rumors this morning. The first of which suggests the potential of the flagship from team AMD to be full of memory, higher TBP, and great clock rates. Whilst the latter gives the likely initial lineup for Nvidia like the 30 series. With the memory and TDPs of the three cards.
AMD Radeon RX 7950XT specifications
RDNA 3.0 will be the upcoming architecture from AMD likely to come in the second half of the year. Greymon suggests the RX 7950XT will feature 15,360 shading units while running at a max boost of 2.5GHz. It would also suggest the TBP of the card will reach 500W. As well as the VRAM of the card reaching 32GB but with only 256bit bus of GDDR6 even if clocked at 21 Gbps. But will also feature 512MB of 3D infinity cache.
Even though the RX 6950 XT has not yet been released most of the specifications have been leaked and rumored. From that, we find that the shading units will triple in the next generation. Along with an even higher boosted clock rate, as well as much higher TBP. As well as a much higher memory capacity and utilizing the 3D cache AMD has developed.

RTX 40 series specifications
Although not an extensive specification on the RTX 40 series, it does give some insight into the new generation of GPUs. It gives information on the 4090, 4080, and 4070, in particular, their GPU variant, VRAM, memory clock, and TDP. All of them increase higher than the previous generation.
Across the board we see the memory capacity increasing, possibly accommodating growing resolutions and textures. As well as improved memory clocks to get all that data where it needs to go quicker. All of that requires much greater power, with the TDP much higher across the board. With the recent release of the 3090 Ti requiring three slot cooling, we could see similar solutions for the next generation as well.
