POCO M4 5G specifications have been revealed

POCO started the POCO M4 series back in November last year. Curiously, the company decided to start kicking the doors with the highest offering – POCO M4 Pro 5G. We weren’t expecting a 4G release, but the company surprised us last month with the POCO M4 Pro 4G. Now, it seems that the company is really walking on a reverse path. The last device to be revealed will be the POCO M4 5G. The first shreds of evidence about this handset have started to appear. Just like the POCO M4 Pro 4G and 5G variants, the simple 5G variant will also bring a MediaTek chipset, but with slightly less brightness.

POCO is yet to confirm the POCO M4 5G existence, but the first details have started to emerge. A new leak emerged today listing the phone’s complete specifications sheet. In fact, the new vanilla smartphone seems to be very similar to the last year’s POCO M3 Pro 5G. Without further ado, let’s see what it has in tow for the intermediary market.

POCO M4 5G alleged specifications

According to the leaked specifications, the POCO M4 5G will bring the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC. This chipset is very familiar to everyone following this particular segment closely. It brings two ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2.2 GHz plus six ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2.0 GHz. The GPU is a Mali-G57 GPU with two cores. This particular chip is present in a multitude of mid-range smartphones with 5G connectivity and gives power to the POCO M3 Pro 5G. As per the reports, the phone will come in variants with 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM. Furthermore, there will be 64 GB or 128 GB of Internal Storage. We also expect a micro SD card slot allowing for further memory expansion.

The POCO M4 5G will flaunt a 6.58-inch IPS LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution. The phone refreshes at 90 Hz which is decent. Moving around to the back, the phone will bring a dual-camera setup. Unfortunately, there will be only a 50 MP main camera and a 2 MP macro shooter. Ultrawide lovers won’t have much love from this phone. Anyway, for selfies and video calls, the device brings a modest 5 MP shooter.

Unlike its siblings, the phone will bring Android 12 and will have MIUI 13 running on the top. The phone will draw its powers from a 5,000 mAh battery with 18 W fast-charging support.

According to the reports, the phone might be just a rebranded Redmi Note 11E. This variant was launched in Japan earlier this month. The phone will sport a waterdrop notch and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. As expected from a budget handset, there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack with a plastic build. We expect more details to appear soon.
