Mario Kart 8 Deluxe may have been around for 8 years, but there is still plenty of content!
Nintendo announced Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC would be coming to put even more tracks in the game – and we’re still expecting 40 more tracks. The first DLC wave for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe arrived in mid-March.
Nintendo announced that 48 tracks will be split into eight waves, with each wave including two cups and eight tracks.
Despite a bit of a wait, rumours are circling that there is a wave 2 on the horizon, so the next batch of content isn’t far away.
When does Mario Kart 8 wave 2 DLC get released?
We still don’t know for sure, but Twitter user @teebeeYT shared a photo of what appeared to be a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Booster Course Pass, which was sent to GameStop employees.
This indicate wave 2 could well be around the corner, and is rumoured to have the following tracks:
- New York Minute (Mario Kart Tour)
- Sydney Sprint (Mario Kart Tour)
- LA Laps (Mario Kart Tour)
- Koopa Cape (Mario Kart Wii)
- Maple Treeway (Mario Kart Wii)
- Mario Circuit (Super Mario Kart)
- Vanilla Lake (Super Mario Kart)
- Rainbow Road (Mario Kart 7)

How to get new tracks in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
To access the new tracks that are out now, you will need to buy the Mario Kart 8 Booster Course Pass (it’s £22.49 from Nintendo) or subscribe to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass (which is £34.99 for a year).
Plus, you will need a copy of the base game itself, either in digital or physical form. If you haven’t bought it already, there are some options below that might interest you, or you could just head to the eShop on your Switch itself.
