FIFA 23 is nearly here and off the back of the cover stars being revealed, the excitement for the game is real.
There are very few things as exciting on FIFA, other than sinking your teeth into a good Career Mode.
The things you want from a Career Mode vary from save to save, but a gunman up top is always important. Depending on which club you choose your budget will vary and the profile of player you want will vary too.
If you’re doing a Championship save, it’s difficult not to bring in a big beefy striker that suits the league. The main thing you’re always going to want is a forward who is young, who can develop and grow.
Players like Mbappé and Haaland will not be on this list, despite how young they are. There are very few clubs in the world who could genuinely afford these players and they have both only just committed their futures to the club.

Taking all of that into account, here are who we think will be the best strikers for a Career Mode on FIFA 23, with the players ranging in quality and price. Here’s who we think will be the must have forwards on FIFA 23’s Career Mode:
FIFA 23: Best signings up top
- Youssofa Moukoko – Borussia Dortmund (OVR 70 – POT 89)
- Charles De Ketelaere – Club Brugge KV (OVR 77 – POT 87)
- Alexander Isak – Real Sociedad (OVR 82 – POT 86)
- Evanilson – FC Porto (OVR 77 – POT 86)
- Armando Broja – Chelsea (OVR 75 – POT 85)
- Jonathan David – LOSC Lille (OVR 79 – POT 85)
- Dominic Calvert-Lewin – Everton (OVR 81 – POT 85)
- Luka Jović – Real Madrid (OVR 79 – POT 84)
- Gianluca Scamacca – U.S. Sassuolo (OVR 78 – POT 84)
None of the players on this list have peaked yet in their career and they are all quite young, which is key to a good Career Mode signing. There are other good choices if you are at one of the really top top teams that have been left out, like Lautaro Martínez, who would be unaffordable to most clubs.
FIFA 23: Old but gold
There are also a lot of great older strikers in the game if you do want to bring in an elder statesman to steady the ship. Players like Olivier Giroud and Edinson Cavani spring to mind, who are both in their 30’s but could be great if that’s the kind of place you want to take your save.

Unfortunately a few of the players on the list may move before the transfer window closes, and if they do they won’t be available for transfer again for a little while. None of these players have recently moved, and this is the reason why other players like Adeyami haven’t made the list.
Moukoko will be the most desirable player on this list and in real life he may not fancy a move away from Borussia Dortmund, but a lot can change in football. Jović will also likely be on the move soon as his move to Real Madrid has not worked out for him, revitalising his career could make for a good challenge on FIFA 23.
If potential works the same way in FIFA 23’s Career Mode, as it has done in previous years. You shouldn’t worry too much as it is quite easy to make a player exceed their potential on the game.
